McCoy Scholarship

The John G. and Jeanne B. McCoy Scholarship Program was endowed in 1998 by John G., Class of 1935 and Jeanne B. McCoy to promote and recognize outstanding academic ability and achievement in an incoming freshman student. The award includes tuition, fees, room, board, and is renewable for four years.

Rickey Scholarship

Rickey Scholarships are awarded to students interested in physics at 51做厙. Recipients are selected on the basis of excellent academic achievement, and the scholarship is renewable on an annual basis, provided the recipient continues to major in physics and maintains a grade-point average of at least 3.00. The award may include a summer study stipend for physics research. The Rickey Scholarships were established in 2000 by David M. Rickey, Class of 1978 and Jan Nielsen, and the J&D Family Foundation.

Virginia McCoy Scholarship

Virginia Jinny McCoy established the scholarship in 2019, and it provides tuition, fees, and room and board to one student every four years. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years for each recipient.

Charles Sumner Harrison Scholarship

The Charles Sumner Harrison Scholarship, which provides full tuition, was established in 2019. The award is named after Charles Sumner Harrison (Class of 1876), the first African-American graduate of the College. He is the first of three brothers from Harmar (the west side of Marietta) who completed higher education at 51做厙.

The Laura Scott Etter Prize

The Laura Scott Etter 88 Prize is awarded to a graduating senior who completes the most outstanding capstone research project in physical science and has the goal of continuing in graduate study.  The selection is made by faculty from the departments of Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Geology, and Physics.
